TCS Hiring Soon, will Start Onboarding 40,000 Employees

The Indian IT conglomerate, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has revealed that it will be starting the onboarding of 40,000 fresh talents very soon. The onboarding will take place in well-planned and phased manners to make the process smoother. The company has also assured that lateral hiring will also be started really soon.

The Indian IT major disclosed its plans in January this year, to hire fresh talents for FY21. The company’s management said that it had offered jobs to 39,000 people at the start of the year. However, the COVID-19 pandemic situation made TCS halt its plans of onboarding the hires. Now, the company has confidently opened up both fresh recruiting and lateral hiring.

Talking about this, Milind Lakkad, Executive Vice President and Global Head, HR of TCS, said, “The process was delayed because of their academic year got delayed.” Although the company made sure that the recruited candidates were in constant touch and were reassured that they will be joining the company very soon.

Majority of the new deals that the company has closed in recent time are in areas of cloud migration, re-imagining the customer experience, and digital transformation. The lateral hiring is likely to be in these areas.

Rajesh Gopinathan, CEO, TCS also hinted that the company was selectively opening up lateral hiring given the positive demand environment. Rajesh, however, did not disclose the quantum of hiring or the functional areas for which the company will be hiring.
